Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy
Regarding the domain disputes, the .al domains have already passed the Sunrise Period, a special period during which trademark holders may preregister names that are the same or similar to their trademarks.
At the moment, any domain disputes are to be regulated by the ICANN’s Uniform Domain-Name Dispute- Resolution Policy (often referred to as the “UDRP”).
Under the policy, all types of trademark-based domain-name disputes must be resolved by agreement, court action, or arbitration before a registrar will cancel, suspend, or transfer a domain name.
If you own a trademark and think that a domain that should be covered under the trademark protection has been registered and is being used in bad faith please contact us. Each of these scenarios has a different solution and we will do our best to guide you in the process and help you within our technical capabilities.
Escalation of the problems should be addressed by filing a complaint at the Registry for .al domains and finally opening a legal case in a court in the territory of the Republic of Albania.
